A versatile KVM solution, the 1U Rack Mount PS/2 KVM Switch offers dual console functionality that provides two access points, allowing the switch to be controlled from either of two user consoles. The 1U PS/2 KVM switch is designed to work with Dell, Compaq, IBM and HP servers, all PC notebook computers, and Compaq Alpha systems - ensuring a smooth and reliable operating experience. The KVM switch includes 4 serial mouse adapters, allowing the switch to support PCs that require either a PS/2 or serial mouse. The KVM switch supports PC selection using the built-on front panel pushbuttons or the integrated On-Screen Display (OSD). Please Note: This product is designed to work in cascaded configuration as a master KVM with non dual-user slave units attached.

  • 2 user consoles provides 2 points of access to the computers connected to the KVM switch. KVM control is shared between the consoles on a first come-first served basis. Only user 1 console can be active at a time.

  • Completely hot-pluggable feature allows you to add or remove keyboards, mice, monitors and even cascaded switches without powering down the switch or an attached computer
  • A front panel pushbutton and status lights for each port make PC selection and switch status monitoring fast and easy
  • Uses standard off-the-shelf cables or StarTech.com tangle-fee KVM cables to connect PCs to the switch
  • Can be cascaded to control up to 64 PCs
  • Each PC name is user-definable via the OSD menu
  • Intelligent scan mode automatically switches through user-defined computers, scan rate is user selectable via OSD menu
  • OSD security option allows certain PCs to be password protected from unauthorized use
  • A special LINK port provides an upgrade path for expanding the capabilities of the switch. An expansion module adding audio and dual monitor support is available. (See SV831MEDIA)
